The Confident Teacher Course
Teacher professional learning
Based on the principles in the Confident Parent Course, this 1 hour learning for teachers provides valuable insights, enhancing their ability to support students’ emotional autonomy. This course helps teachers maintain resilience, navigate classroom challenges, reduces stress and fosters a more connected learning environment.
What You’ll Gain:

Training and resources
Training in family systems ideas and theory – 2.5 hours. Group facilitator training in how to run the Parent group discussions and answer questions – 4 x 1.5 hours.
2x Group mentoring sessions, online learning hub, and resource library of webinars specific to schools for support. A digital copy of Dr Jenny Brown’s book; Parenting with Clarity.
The Schools package is $1050 for 12 months access, and future years without training is $690 per staff member.

Specialised Parent Support for Student Disengagement
School counsellor training to use manualised intervention with parents. (Level 1 & 2 clinical intervention)
This package empowers school counsellors to work with parents of disengaged students. Training includes live mentoring and clinical intervention tools in the manualised program -helping parents address attendance issues and reengage their children with school life. It can be run as a parent group or individualised.
What You’ll Gain:
- Comprehensive training to support parents of disengaged students using our semi-manualised program.
- Live mentoring and practical intervention tools to address school attendance issues via parents and teachers.

Student Independence Project
The nonprofit Let Grow movement https://letgrow.org/ is a program for students that fits with the Parent Hope message. The premise is the same as the Parent Hope Project: When adults step back – kids step up.
This initiative provides free materials to schools and parents. We are happy to include mentoring for this program together with our parent and teacher programs. Contact us.

From worry about your child, to confidence in your parenting
The overall theme of the Confident Parent Course is when parents’ make a project out of themselves rather than anxiously focussing on their child, this provides developmental ‘breathing space’ for the child, reducing worry and increasing parent confidence.
The 4-part course explores the following questions:

You can start with
- the theory course – Family systems and symptoms in children for an understanding of the family systems approach to parenting
- book in your group mentor sessions, one before and one after completing your training
- watch the streaming resources, the Confident Parent Course (either the full video version, or group discussion highlights), and Cultivating Confident Parenting to see what is available for parents and staff
- complete the facilitator training course in how to present the Confident Parent Course
- Watch the teacher training course, in preparation to use this course to support teacher learning in your school
- work through the School Resources course:
- download your free book,
- view the introductory 15 minute session for parents in the School Resources course
- work through the extra webinars, on facilitation and applying the package in schools.
- Plan how to use your package in your school. Perhaps begin with teacher training, scheduling an initial 1 part parenting courses, followed by the 4 part course for interested parents. Support for this will be provided in the mentor sessions.
If you would like some extra mentoring or coaching to implement the Confident Parent Course, this is available for 1 hour, 1.5 or 2 hours, costed at $280 per hour plus GST with Jenny, Vicki or another trainer. Contact our office to book.
2 x group sessions are provided as part of the schools package, to look at the big picture of the school package strategy. Extra sessions can be useful for single-event preparation or discussing a single dilemma. Contact our office to book.
The initial sessions will cover:
- clarifying the training (family systems theory and children’s mental health and wellbeing) and the streaming resources
- what is unique about the messaging – not telling parents how to do their job, but a framework for parent self-discovery so they can parent more calmly and confidently
- Exploring the context of the school and its unique parent communities
- Brainstorming ideas for engaging parents
Session 1: Work through your school’s unique context in engaging parents, teasing out remaining questions.
Session 2: After you have completed the theory training course and after the first delivery of the group – Q & A about course content – brainstorm ways to respond to parent questions and reactions.
In the Confident Parent Course, and 1 part Cultivating Confident Parenting, each session of the faith-based version concludes with a short reflection of a relevant bible verse, and the workbook has reflection questions linked to the verse. You are able to skip this part if needed depending on your audience.
If you have completed your first year using the schools package, and have completed your theory training and training in Confident Parent Course group facilitation, you can now purchase 12 months access to our Schools Package – resources without training.
This provides access to all parent and teacher courses, plus ongoing support with a community hub, mentor session, resource library and live webinars.
